AR party

Congrats to all of our students who met their AR reading goal this nine weeks, and was able to attend our final AR party this year. We had a special visitor which our students were very excited to see, and earned a dog tag. Great job students!

Congratulations to Shelby!

Shelby is our May S.O.A.R. student, and we are so excited about her hard work this school year. Congratulations Shelby!

Sharing Time

Our students love our daily sharing time. This is a time for students to bring in materials, books, videos, cd's, etc. that they have located at home that relate to our current topic. This activity makes learning personal and relevant to each of them, and adds a new and greater dimension to our daily learning experiences. This week Chloe brought in her pet turtle to share with the class. She did an awesome job sharing the information she had researched with her mom about turtles, and her own personal experiences with caring for her pet turtle. The students were excited to ask questions, and to hold her turtle as well. Thanks Chloe and mom for your part in helping to make our classroom a great place to learn!

U.S. Symbols

Our current topic in Social Studies is the "Grand Old Flag and other U.S. symbols". Here is a site that we will explore at school about symbols that you can also look at with your child at home. Please help them to find any U.S. symbols at home as well in magazines, books, children's music videos, etc. that they can share during our daily sharing time if they would like to participate. Thanks for your support!
